Sunny winter days are such a tease. They look so beautiful and make you believe that it's actually going to be a warm day. You step out into the world and your hopes of warmth are shattered by the coldest wind you've experienced in your lifetime (dramatic? Maybe. True? Absolutely). That is exactly what happened the day I decided to wear this outfit. However, I knew it would look perfect with these awesome filing cabinets so I stuck it out, because priorities.
I've had this military jacket for several years now, and it's still a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe. It's an easy statement piece that every girl should have in her closet. When buying a coat, it's important to make sure that the length is right for your body shape. If you don't know your body shape, this blog post by The Chic Fashionista is extremely helpful. I am high-waisted, so a longer jacket elongates my legs.
I styled my jacket with high-waisted jeans, a long-sleeved crop top and super fun rain booties. I love the unique pattern on the shoulder of the jacket. The pop of gold my thrifted belt adds another unique detail to the look as well.
