Loafers are currently one of my favorite shoe styles. This classic, menswear-inspired trend is one that I cannot seem to get enough of. They're versatile enough to dress up or down and, not to mention, they come in a bazillion different styles. They're a comfortable alternative to heels and add a bit more class to an outfit than traditional flats or sneakers. These Jeffrey Campbell spiked loafers are basically my dream shoe. This designer is known for creating a unique twist on traditional footwear, and his shoes easily become the focal point of any look. These loafers are no exception, as the spike and leather combination give off a no-nonsense, ready-for-business energy.
I generally think of loafers as being a "business" shoe, but I decided to style them with an easy but pulled-together weekend look. I paired them with ripped boyfriend jeans, to play up the punky vibes of the spikes. The crew neck sweater and silver necklace provide a more sophisticated balance, making this look perfect for a casual night out. I added red lipstick for a pop of color and an extra touch of classicism.
